Das Guest Guest Symposium “Care in Times of Darkness - Ohne Widerstand gibt es keinen Halt” beschäftigt sich mit Care (dt. Fürsorge, Sorge, Pflege) als künstlerische Praxis in einer komplexen Gegenwart. Care wird dabei als inhärentes Prinzip des Lebens in einem gemeinsamen, resilienten Ökosystem verstanden und umfasst sowohl menschliches wie auch mehr-als-menschliches Dasein. Was aber, wenn die Zeiten düsterer werden und es schwierig wird, einander zu finden, zu halten und zu stützen? Wie können wir im Angesicht einer feindlicher werdenden Gesellschaft unsere Verletzlichkeit als Stärke begreifen und unsere gegenseitige Abhängigkeit anerkennen? Wie können wir inmitten des Klimakollaps, rechtem Backlash und multiplen Kriegen uns von dem Gefühl der Ohnmacht lösen und solidarische Praktiken entwickeln? Kann dabei Kunst ein alternatives Modell des Zusammenlebens und des Umgangs mit der Welt sein? Und wie können wir in diesen dunklen Zeiten wieder Hoffnung schöpfen?

Gemeinsam besetzen wir für 24h die Aktionshalle und schaffen einen fluiden und solidarischen Raum, welcher je nach Bedürfnissen und Situation umgestaltet wird. Es gibt eine Grundausstattung von Stühlen, Matratzen, Decken, Kissen, Sofas, Verpflegung, sowie ein Raum im Raum für Rückzug, ein Awareness-Team und ein 24h-Feuer im Aussenraum. Bringt was ihr braucht, um euch wohlzufühlen und euch mit anderen zu verbinden.

In einer Gesellschaft, die Care auslagert, privatisiert und unsichtbar macht, leisten künstlerische Praktiken der Care sanften Widerstand: Die Gastbeiträge und Workshops des Symposiums “Care in Times of Darkness” aus den Bereichen Performance, Choreografie, Musik und bildender Kunst, sind ästhetische und sinnliche Erfahrung, sozialer Akt und politischer Aktivismus. Sie sind ein solidarisches Aushalten des Unbehagens und die Anerkennung der Differenz und deren Grenzen. Sanft und kritisch zugleich.

Programm

Das Programm folgt der Transformation des natürlichen Lichts, von Tageslicht über die Nacht bis hin zum neuen Tageslicht. Sonnenuntergang ist um 18.16 und Sonnenaufgang um 6.58. Das 24h-Programm kann auch punktuell besucht werden. Zwischen den Programmpunkten gibt es Zeitpuffer für Pausen und informelle Gespräche.

The Guest Guest Symposium ‘Care in times of darkness’ explores care as an artistic practice in a complex present. Care is understood as an inherent principle of life in a shared, resilient ecosystem and encompasses both human and more-than-human existence. But what happens when times get darker and it becomes difficult to find, hold and carry each other? Within an increasingly hostile society, how can we recognise our vulnerability as strength and acknowledge our interdependence? In the midst of climate collapse, right-wing backlash and multiple wars, how can we break free from the feeling of powerlessness and develop practices of solidarity? Can art be an alternative model for living together and dealing with the world? And how can we regain hope in times of darkness?

Together we will occupy the school's Aktionshalle for 24 hours and create a fluid and solidary space that can be reorganised according to needs and situation. There will be basic equipment such as chairs, mattresses, blankets, cushions, sofas, food, as well as a room within the room for retreat, an awareness team and a 24-hour fire in the outdoor space. Bring what you need to feel comfortable and connect with others.

In a society that outsources, privatises and makes care invisible, artistic practices of care offer gentle resistance: the guest contributions and workshops from the fields of performance, choreography, music and visual arts at the ‘Care in Times of Darkness’ symposium are aesthetic and sensual experiences, social acts and political activism. They are a solidary endurance of discomfort and the recognition of difference and its limits. Soft and critical at the same time.

Programme

The programme follows the transformation of natural light, from daylight through the night to daylight again. Sunset is at 18.16 and sunrise at 6.58. The 24-hour programme can also be visited selectively. There will be time in between for breaks and informal discussions.
